Drawing 4: The Head

Drawing the Head

In my opinion drawing Anatomy is quite difficult subject to draw but the book Basic Drawing by Louis Priscilla. makes it easier, by starting piece by piece. the first piece is the Head Louis says that " you can better understand the head in perspective by thinking of it as having six sides and being cube like in structure"(44). I attempted to practice this below.

I next tried to draw a head with details and shading.
According to the Author When the head is turned down then line across the front of the face will go up to eye level(46).

I have learned to draw the human head in more detail and more in depth. this can help whenever I need to draw people i will know more on the drawing of the head in perspective. a question that I have for you is have you ever had a hard time drawing Heads?

  1. Yes, I am terrible at drawing and in the art classes I've taken, I have basically failed on the self- portrait unit because of my lack in skill in drawing a good head.
