Most people don't seem to notice that different tires had different uses. When your one the trail your going to want to use the big bulky tires with lots of traction and not as much air, but its useless on the roads. When you get on the road you need to change your ties to, "narrower, smooth-tread rubber" (Pavelka 139). I use these tires most of the time on my bike and they work wonderfully, it also helps to pump your ties up to the maximum air pressure. When you do this it reduces surface area and friction.

The left tire would be one used for off road or mountain biking, the tread allows for more grip on the slick surfaces. if you are a major biker and need some better support for your tires you can get a four spoke tires that are tough enough to hold up off and on road, whenever you switch back and forth (Pavelka 140). I have personally only been able to use these only a few times but when I have they are clearly different from standard spoke tires.
Are there any fun thing you have done on your bike?
