I for one cannot do
lipstick. I am that girl you see walking down the street with
the lipstick all around her lip, and maybe even on her teeth.
One might say that my lips look like Miranda Sings when I put lipstick
on.
But I am determined this year to
finally get the perfect lips, big bold lips. One of the first steps in having
the perfect lipstick is swatching the color of the lipstick before putting it
on. This swatching can help you find a color that works well with your skin tone. In my
book the authors imply that lipstick is almost like a part of culture and
probably always will be a necessity in the makeup world "lipstick has long been used by women in many diverse
cultures to accentuate their femininity and emanate their own unique
expressions of elegance and style to the outside world (16)". To
get my perfect lips I used a brush to apply the lipstick because it is easier
to manage where the lipstick goes on.
All in all I would have to say
that I consider this look a success! The lipstick turned out very well and I
got a lot of compliments from my family and friends.
Here's a question for you girls out there, do you like matte, nude, or bold tones? And for you guys, Does a girls lipstick affect their appearance?

Hi Melanie! I really like how you applied your lipstick. To answer your question, I like a nude lip. Even though I barely wear lipstick. I feel like a nude lip looks natural.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, thank you for looking at how I apply lipstick. I would have to agree with you about a nude lip. I personally will pick out light shades of pick or even pastel colors that blend in with my lip tone. I do this so that people don't just notice my lip, they notice all the other makeup I put on. I as well think that a nude lip looks very natural. Thank you again for taking time and looking and my bold lips :)
DeleteInteresting post Melanie! In response to your question, some days I do wear lip gloss, but I generally don't spend much time on my makeup. After reading your posts, I might take some more time in the morning to apply my makeup and look nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carly for looking at my post. I love that you wear lip gloss because I never can. Whenever I try to apply lip gloss the product ends up getting everywhere but my lips. Also I hate the feeling of my lips sticking together :). To add on to you taking time in the morning to apply makeup, I say go for it. It can definitely help you feel better about yourself, more confident. Who knows you might even just go for a simple natural look to start out. Thank you again Carly for reading my post, I really appreciate it.
