Social Media: Be an Expert

Be an Expert

Being apart of your brand offers an opportunity to build a reputation as an expert in your field. You can answer questions, offer educated opinions, and open links to informational articles you have written (Williams 18). This build you up as being someone reputable and someone knowledgeable about what you are talking about. for my instance, eSports and competitive gaming. It is about providing real helpful information to your customers and followers of your social media account. In my instance I can deter people towards websites and helpful places where they can buy merchandise.
I can guide them to websites that have active information about the competitive eSports game Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
I can also guide them to the shop with all the apparel in if they are interested in buying any. This is very important considering commission sold from the product will be beneficial to keeping the brand up and running if there is some sort of physical needs that the company will need. Being an expert to your brand and topic in general is very important to where you can guide your followers and answer any vital questions they have to ask.

Question: When people DM you on twitter or tweet at you how do you respond back?

Social Media : KISS it

Keep It Simple Stupid

KISS basically means Keep It Simple Stupid. Talking about your logo itself, it doesn't have to be anything to complicated. You want to capture basically what your company stands for in one picture and not have 10 different elements in it. Basically minimizing the number of colors, fonts, shapes, images, and lines you use in the logo (Williams 19).
This logo which is the main one used on the twitter account is very simplistic, having only 2 words and an overall design of a sword going through the back drop of the shield. Also this logo can be integrated into many different designs and colors. For example apparel and banners.
Planning ahead is one of the most important part of creating a killer logo (Williams 19). For instance planning has made this logo look really good on the apparel and the color look amazing.

Question: Is the logo that important for you guys, or is it something to just demonstrate you personally?

Branding Your Social Media

Branding Your Social Media

Like every other social media platform including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest being unique is important. Branding yourself with a certain color scheme or graphic will get you recognized by that certain type of branding. For my case using a darker color scheme as a background and lighter text for it to pop out. The Twitter account that does this well and very simplistic is @Haven_eSports.
This Banner is very simplistic and expresses all the values of your branding including mine. It shows our other social media platforms and our sponsors to making our organization successful. The High contrast pops out our logo very well and makes everything on the twitter account look very nice.
Branding is just one of the major keys to success the others include Uniqueness, Knowledge of your audience, consistency, your competition, social media exposure (Williams 16). Branding is very important and in the 21st century keeping your audience staying is key. Peoples first looks and ideals of your twitter account is very important!

Question: What do you put as your logo and your Banner on Twitter or different Social Media platforms?

Twitter Hashtags : How do you use them?

Twitter Hashtags

Twitter generally is a user based and advertising based social media platform. It is used to connect with friends, companies and advertise many different products. Even though hashtags are a global term and are used on many platforms, including instagram, Facebook, and Pintrest they are most successful on twitter where hashtags are central concept of Twitter.

Hashtags are are usually meant to search for topics of interests, connect with your audiences, and to help people find your posts more easily (Williams 39) How I use hashtags is to generally to connect with my audience from my organization twitter @Haven_eSports.

The Hashtag #HavenNation is one that I generally use to connect to my eSports audience that will gain attention more and trend towards something bigger that people can use to grab my attention. Hashtags are also generally used to target an audience for a specific event.

Question : Why do you use hashtags? Also what hashtags do you guys generally use often and some you rarely use?

Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing

There are many social media platforms that many people use personally, or for some type of business marketing. But the main purpose of social media isn't to post your belief, but to actually gain valuable data for companies by companies to bring you the most valuable social media experience, It is just one big business! Many of these social media platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Pinterest and YouTube.

I personally enjoy the art of trying to market yourself which is what I will be blogging about. There are many ways people market off of social media, people market themselves (celebrities), people market businesses, people market organizations, and frequent/infrequent events. There are 3.175 billion global active internet users, which is almost half of the world's population! Social media accounts penetrate about 30% of these internet users, 2.206 billion people (Williams 10)

I will be blogging about the social media techniques that I use and learn from John Williams to grow my brand and organization to hopefully in the near future be able to call myself a successful social media marketer!

Twitter

I will be marketing off of twitter on the account @Haven_eSports and will try to grow from my point of 317 followers and 2.5k engagements daily.

I usually tweet infrequently and only tweet twice, maybe 3 times a day but after reading Willams section on Lifespan I learned I need to change this. only 92% of engagement happens only between the first hour of the tweet being made (Williams 37) an engagement is anybody ,clicking, liking, commenting, favoriting, or retweeting a post. So instead of tweeting less times a day tweeting more isn't only acceptable but preferred!

Through the next couple of weeks and months I will not only try to expand but do so successfully with a higher engagement percentage and follower count! Why not go and check out the twitter, and give it a follow!

QUESTION : What is your main purpose of social media? What are your hoping to do with the account in the near future if you are on it daily?
