Base makeup:

Base makeup is what you apply on before all the “extra” stuff; eyelashes, eyeshadow, blush, lip color, contour etc. I see makeup as a house in a way. To have a beautiful house, you must spend time building a sturdy foundation, and we use plenty of foundation for our base.

The first step to having a good base is your primer, it doesn’t have to be expensive to work. Primer is used to apply makeup smoother, and for it to stay on better.

Next, cover dark sports or red spots you may have. I use an actual color corrector, but small amounts of red lipstick on the spots work well too. Make sure to blend well!

Third, apply a quarter sized amount of your tone matching foundation to your hand, take a beauty blender and apply various thin dots of product all over your face. Blend it out, make sure foundation application is smooth, and you can’t tell well it starts and ends.

Lastly, apply concealer to any places you feel needs more coverage. (Tip: buy your concealer a shade lighter than your foundation, it blends better and has a more polished look)
