Origami Swan
Today I decided to try
origami in the intermediate section because I wanted a challenge. The
intermediate section says that the origami was “.. build upon the basic folds
shown in chapter 1” (Montroll 52). With that being said, I thought that the
intermediate origami wouldn’t be that hard but I was wrong. For my first
intermediate origami I wanted to make a swan, there were a total of 23 steps
but I was only able to go to step 14 because the rest of the steps were
confusing to me. The swan starts with dividing your paper into thirds and then doing a
few reverse folds near the end. (Montroll 54). Step 15 prevented me from finishing the swan, the step may seem easy but I didn't know how to reverse fold to make it look like the next step. For me, the reverse folds were difficult to
do because the book doesn’t do a good job explaining how to do it.
What folds are difficult
for you to do?
