The most important think about a Stir Fry is the timing. As Alton brown says, "Timing is essential, to long and you make the vegetables much, to short and they are still raw, if you have meat in it, put it in first, so it is done by the time the whole thing is done" (Brown 245). I would have to agree with this, when i made my Stir Fry, the hardest thing was the timing. You have to know how long each think takes to cook, so they all come out done at the same time.
The most time consuming part of the whole thing is to take the time to cut everything. This is also the most difficult part, because when you cut all of the vegetables they all most be the same size so that when you cook it they all cook evenly, as well as when you plate it it looks appealing.
What do you think the best way to cook a stir fry is?

Hi Kyle! To answer your question I personally think the best way to cook stir fry is in a deep skillet because I don't actually own a wok. I really like the pictures in your blog post and that you talked about how timing and order is essential. This post has really made me want to go make a stir fry this weekend and work on the timing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to read my blog post, a deep skillet does work as well, personally i don't like how long they take to heat up. However both get the job done
DeleteHey Kyle! To answer your question, I think that the best way to cook stir fry is to cook it quickly so that the vegetables get crispy. I enjoyed this blog post because for one the food looks delicious and also I learned new ways to cook stir fry!
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time for reading my blog post Faith. I totally agree with you, stir fry looks elegant, and it tastes good.
DeleteI agree with Sydney: in a deep skillet. Also, most people cook stirfry in oil, but I think the healthiest option is to fry it in water to save the calories and unhealthy impact of oil on the body.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to read my blog post Mrs. Robison. Personally, I have never cooked stir fry in water, but it sounds like a good, healthy alternative to using oil.
