Neutral Colors in Fashion

Hi everyone! For today's post I will be talking about neutral colors and how to make a great look with them. I usually don't wear a lot of bright colors, mostly i stick to black and gray, with some color in my shirts, but not a lot. In Christian Dior's, The Little Dictionary of Fashion, he says, "And gray, like black, is such a convenient color. Almost all colors look nice with it- gray and white" (79). Dior thought that gray looked great with all colors, and I agree. I think a little bit of gray with some bright color is nice, or the other way around with more gray. Gray can be dressed in almost all ways, and can go well with all types of colors and accessories. Dior said that gray looks good with white, and I completely agree with that. White and gray, in my opinion, makes such a subtle and calm look, and is very enticing and simple for anyone.

In this look I put together, I wore my new pale cream sweater-shirt with my blue ripped jeans and light gray boots. This is one of my favorite outfits I've worn, and the part that I think makes the look are my gray boots. These shoes have about a 2 inch heel, and are suede material. They have a very light gray main color with an elastic black material down the side. The sweater I wore is a Kendall and Kylie product, which is very popular this season, and has basically a key hole in the front with a high neck. The sweater fits really well with this look, since it is simple and pale, balancing out the blue ripped jeans. If I wore a more busy top, then the look wouldn't have as much impact to it. If you're looking to wear a simple and chic look, then I would give the advice to pick a bold shoe and play it down with a simple and fashionable top with a pair of pants that make the look fun, not boring.

As Dior says that he loves gray (79), and I agree. Gray is a very nice color, and can make any look great, along with the person wearing the outfit. Neutral colors are amazing, and can be worn in all types of ways. My favorite neutral color is cream and a light blush/pink, along with light gray.
