First thing you wan to wear are some comfy pants. This can include joggers or sweatpants. It's something that's easy to put on, and can look stylish and cute. However, "Never a skirt, never a dress" (Fressange 57).
For tops, wear layers ! Start with a simple tank top, then a long sleeve tee, and a nice chunky sweater over the top. That way if you start feeling hot, you can just peel off a layer, but if you keep them all on, the chunky sweater can hide the other layers. Plus you'll feel better prepared, instead of having to change your shirt because you're too hot.
Wear comfy shoes, especially if you are someone who likes to take off shoes on the ride to your destination. Avoid shoes such as boots and heels, as they can be annoying to have to put them back on, plus they aren't known to be the most comfortable. Instead, go for simple flats or a pair of sneakers.
Finally, pack some essentials into a tote bag, like a laptop, books, magazines. Some things I like to bring along on top of that is a reusable water bottle, headphones, an extra pair of socks, and some lip balm.

Hi Jessica! Your article is very interesting and I think my go-to outfit is simple sweatpants and a loose fit t-shirt that i wear under a sweatshirt. I pair that with my most comfortable sneakers. While reading your article, I am wondering what your advice is to limiting the amount of clothing that i would pack for a trip?
ReplyDeleteHi Zara ! I love that you're go to traveling outfit is really similar to Fressange's. Limiting the amount of clothing that you would pack really depends on where you're going. If you're going somewhere where you're going to be active, I'd bring a shirt for every day you're there, a hoodie, and 2 extra shirts in case something happens to the one you were wearing. If you're not going to be traveling and be super active, then I'd really only pack a top a day, but bring an extra top. With jeans/pants, it depends on how long you're going to be there for, if it's for 1-2 days, bring 1 pair. For anything 3-4, bring 2, and so forth. But always bring an extra pair of pants ! It might take up extra space, but you can easily spill something or rip your pants! Hope this helps! :)
DeleteHi Jessica! I love your article and I think my go-to travelling outfit would be some sweatpants or leggings, a simple t-shirt and some ugg boots. You've described what articles of clothing you prefer but do you have any specific ways of styling your travelling outfits?
ReplyDeleteHi Kiera! When I style my travel outfits, I tend to choose comfy clothes, that are still stylish. For example, instead of a random t shirt and hoodie that I own, I'll find a t shirt and hoodie that look nice, such as a nice graphic tee and a hoodie that doesn't look "sloppy". Sometime's I'll wear a necklace to pull the look together, but it really depends on how I feel!
DeleteHey Jessica love your article but what is your sense of style when go-to travailing outfit is it just sweat pants and a shirt or a long sleeve shirt or do you have another kinds of outfits that you wear besides that.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm traveling, I either follow Fressange's guidelines, or I wear leggings, comfy shoes (such as uggs), and a light shirt and bring a hoodie in my carry on! But otherwise it's practically the same ! :)
DeleteI wear: tennis shoes (because I tend to walk a lot when traveling) and bring warm socks (airplanes are always cold), I wear block yoga pants (for comfort), I wear layers on top: tank or t-shirt and a hoodie (so that I can stay warm/cool as needed), I always bring a water bottle (because the air on planes dehydrates you quickly). lotion and chap stick (keeping my skin hydrated). For entertainment: I always have a book and Sudoku, then maybe some electronics. I also bring snacks - healthy ones - (buying food at the airport or on the plane is ridiculously expensive. Do you have any travel hacks besides what you wear?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've got your traveling essentials down ! For some other travel hacks, I always bring an extra pair of pants, I bring a portable charger with me, I roll my clothes to awkward folding creases and to save space, and I also like to pack necklaces with the chain through a straw to avoid getting it knotted !
