111 one minute Monologues

Some people say that doing a monologue is a easy thing to do. But to tell the truth there is some steps to take in order to do the monologue perfect for an audition, or performing it,  etc.

Step one: "pick the monologue that hits you. Trust your instincts. You'll pick the right one!"
Step two: "Make the monologues active. What do you want and how do you try to get it" (Dabrowski ix).

For example, the monologue i chose is Hot Mama, i chose this because not only do you pick the monologue that hits you but also the one that you can relate to and can really bring out the actor/actress in you, and in this monologue i can really relate to it and act it out very well. i relate to this monologue because it's talking about summer and what girls wear and how the character doesn't really like what most girls wear, in one part of the monologue it said "Summer is not all it's cracked up to be. it's hot. you have to wear shorts and tank tops. i hate shorts"(Dabrowski 30).

Question: How do you know if the Monologue is right for you?
