Game Plan

Having some sort of game plan before going into a big match or event is a very vital factor of begin successful. Putting in extra time to watch footage of teams or practicing specific things to prepare you for that game is what will give you and your team an edge before the game even starts.
An example the author provides of a good game plan would be, "Begin by measuring the mental state of your game with the mental game scorecard provided. This will help you develop a winning mental practice and competition plan. Next, create your own pre-performance readiness routine so that you are full of power when the gun goes off or when the puck is dropped. Learn how to give yourself a winning pregame pep talk when needed, and make sure to keep an eye out for mental errors athletes make at major events. And strive to find emotional balance in life's continuous imbalance, ambiguity, and uncertainty by controlling what you can control" (Afremow 207). This shows that with these steps, you will be able to perform better. Another step you can take along wit it would be to specify your preparation revolving around a certain team and their tendencies. This will help you in the game because of the preparation you did before. Another good example would be a quote included, said by Benjamin Franklin, that states "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail" (Afremow 207). This quote portrays that without preparation, you are more likely to fail or not reach your goals. Good preparation sets you up to succeed and gives a good upper hand in the game.
Preparing yourself both mentally and physically before a match will set you up for success and give you the most probable opportunity to do your best.
What are some things you do to prepare before a game or any other event?
