Butter Milk Pancakes
one of my favorite breakfast foods is pancakes, but i could never figure out which ingredient you should add first. my first impressions is to add them in all at the same time, but int the book it says " Whisk the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. In a large bowl, whisk the buttermilk with the eggs, then whisk in the dry mix"(Volkwein). in the book it also says that you should only flip the pancake once the bubbles pop and cook until the second side is golden. but enough of that and lets get into how i made them
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- vegetable oil, for the griddle
all my ingredients
first step: add 3 cups of all-purpose flour into a medium bowl
second step: add 1 tablespoon plus one teaspoon of baking powder into the flour
third step: add 1 teaspoon on baking soda into mix
step four: add 2 teaspoons of sugar into the mix
step five: add 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
step six: whisk together all they dry ingredients
step seven: now take your buttermilk
step eight: add your eggs in and whisk well
step nine: add your dry mix into your liquid mix and start whisking until it is thick
step ten: add butter and then whisk everything together and heat up the stove to the medium setting
step eleven: pour a ladel full of pancake batter onto the griddle and wait until the bubbles are done popping and the pancake turns golden
okay guys, i hope to see you all back on my blog next time. what toppings do you guys like on your pancakes? |
